NEWS BRIEF
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 6/7/18
CONTACTS: Victoria Kasdan (941) 755-3952, Ext. 2

BRADENTON, FL JUNE 7, 2018 — Victoria Kasdan, RN, MPH was recently selected to be a member of The Influencer Project, a high-profile, statewide initiative launched in May 2018 by Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald and McClatchy to fuel an in-depth discussion about key issues driving voters’ decisions in the 2018 election cycle.

The project’s aim is to draw on the expertise and leadership of Florida’s diverse voices (in business, non-profit, entertainment, sports, faith and culture) to elevate the election-year conversation and keep candidates focused on the policy positions that matter to Floridians.

Kasdan joins a diverse group of 50 influential people throughout Florida as selected, leaders who understand what matters to key constituencies across the state. From June thru November, members of The Influencer Project will provide feedback focused on critical policy issues of importance to Floridians. Their participation will culminate at a high-profile event in November.

The group was divided into four categories – visionaries, educators, advocates and experts. Articles representing member’s perspectives will be printed regularly over the next few months in The Miami Herald with links to The Bradenton Herald.

Kasdan, a registered nurse for more than 30 years, holds a Master of Public Health degree, and is an experienced leader in the medical and health insurance fields. She currently serves as Executive Director of We Care Manatee, a local nonprofit that facilitates delivery of free medical care for low-income, uninsured residents in coordination with a team of 80 volunteer licensed providers. Kasdan said, “I am honored to be selected to the panel. Participation provides me with an opportunity to increase awareness about the number of poor people without access to healthcare, the unique challenges they face, and the widespread impact that issue has in our local communities and statewide.”
